Jamie O’Hara has urged Manchester United to relieve Erik ten Hag of his duties following another disappointing loss.
Ten Hag has struggled to turn things around this season, narrowly keeping his position over the summer. Pressure is mounting on the Dutch manager after United’s recent 2-1 defeat to West Ham, and reports indicate the club’s leadership has been considering alternative coaches, though they opted not to make changes during the international break. However, with United set to play Leicester City in the Carabao Cup at Old Trafford on Wednesday, O’Hara believes it’s time for Ten Hag to go.
Speaking on Sky Sports, the former Tottenham player stated, “Nine games in, and [United] are 14th… this is Manchester United.” He continued, “If they were ninth, you might let it slide as top-half, but they’ve already lost four games.”
When asked what he’d do if he were in charge, O’Hara responded, “I’d let him go; I’d have done it three months back. After the FA Cup win, I’d have thanked him for the trophy and let him leave on a high.”
